London Taxi Drivers' Charity for Children

Our history is built on the yearly outings we provide for the children and our fundraising activities which support the many appeals we receive for help. Our committee is entirely voluntary, ensuring that all donations go straight to the good work that we perform.

ABOUT US

We are well known for our outings to the seaside when convoys of London taxis decked in balloons and banners take excited children and their helpers for a fun day out. We also organise and hold exciting events for children including trips to the theatre and christmas parties.

Yet our work is so much more. We deal with many appeals to help children. Our volunteers fundraise through donations, sponsorship, support and social events including dinner dances, raffles and film premieres which allows us to continue our important work in assisting children in need of help.

Throughout our 90 year history we have assisted with many appeals providing essential funding for the purchase of recreational, technology and mobility equipment for children, schools and hospices and we rely on your generosity to do it.

We are honoured and privileged to have Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall as our Patron.

Notes of Thanks

On behalf of everyone at Ab Phab Youth Club, we wanted to say a big thank you for the opportunity to attend the tea party again this year. The young people thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Best wishes.

Louise Harris Ab Phab

Thank you for inviting us to the 2018 Mad Hatters Tea Party on Sunday. It was a fantastic day as always. The staff and children really enjoyed it and haven't stopped talking about it.

Thank you for the lovely day we had at Southend-on-Sea. The children, staff and parents all had a wonderful time. We all had fantastic drivers who looked out for us. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation for the amount you all did.

OUR HISTORY

Our humble beginnings can be traced back to 1928. That first taxi outing became the start of a custom, which has since become a famous sight to behold in London each year.

We are proud that our evolution has been built on the dedication of the volunteer committee, the volunteering of the hundreds of London taxi drivers who drive at our outings and events and the kindness of your donations and support.

Effective management of donations, no salaries taken, no dividends paid ensures that your donations are maximised and your kindhearted generosity ensures our continued success.

If you would like to know more about our history, take a look at our timeline and see just how many children's lives we have helped improve.
