Ten-year-old Samson, a third-generation supporter of the LTCFC, orchestrated a remarkable fundraising event at the iconic Ace Cafe London on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025. The successful event, which featured a stunning display from the London Vintage Taxi Association, raised over £1,000 through both on-site collections and a family-organised GoFundMe page.
The day began early in the morning, with young Samson and his grandfather – a London cabbie of over 57 years and long-standing LTCFC committee member – arriving early to set up. Together with Samson’s father, they carefully arranged raffle prizes, posters, and collection tins, setting the stage for what would become a memorable day of community spirit and generosity.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with sunshine blessing the event and creating an ideal backdrop for the impressive lineup of vintage taxis that graced the venue. Committee members and Samson’s family turned out in force to support this inspiring young fundraiser’s initiative.
Hosted at the Ace Cafe London, the venue itself added a special atmosphere to the occasion. This beloved establishment, reminiscent of a classic American diner, provided the perfect setting with its distinctive décor and renowned breakfast menu that continues to draw visitors from far and wide.
Plans are already in motion for Samson to present the collected funds to both the LTCFC and London Air Ambulance in an upcoming ceremony, with photographs to be shared of this special presentation.
This heartwarming event not only showcases the incredible spirit of young Samson but also highlights the continuing legacy of the LTCFC, as new generations step forward to support this vital charity’s work. The success of this fundraiser demonstrates how the tradition of giving back continues to thrive within London’s taxi community.
